Scale Insects and Natural Enemies Associated with Conilon Coffee (Coffea canephora) in São Paulo State, Brazil

Several insect pests are related to the cultivation of conilon coffee, Coffea canephora (Rubiaceae), including (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha). Coccoids damage plants by sucking their sap, producing honeydew, and transmitting viruses. Parasitoids predators natural enemies that regulate population can be used in mealybug biological control. This study aimed survey scale insects associated with C. city Jaboticabal, São Paulo State, Brazil. Two species mealybugs from family Coccidae three Pseudococcidae were collected different plant structures. Natural comprised hymenopteran parasitoids families Aphelinidae, Eulophidae, Encyrtidae, Perilampidae; predator beetles Coccinellidae; dipterans Cecidomyiidae; thrips Aeolothripidae. is first report Coccus brasiliensis, Pseudococcus longispinus, cryptus; Coccophagus rusti, Aprostocetus sp., Aenasius advena, fusciventris, pseudococci, Perilampus sp.; Cycloneda conjugata, Pseudoazya nana, Diadiplosis coccidivora, Franklinothrips vespiformis, canephora. Knowledge respective will contribute control strategies planning integrated management coffee.
